The Play:

A Fast paced comedy set in the back gardens of feuding neighbours. The night of michael and Roma's fancy dress house warming turns into a string of hilarious disasters. A distinct lack of guests, a burning shed and a marauding zimmer frame. Another hit play by the author of Outside Edge and Stepping Out.

Review:

Comedy on the house (Paul Marston)

A house warming fancy dress party for a doctor and his wife turns out to be a prescription for hotheads in this clever Richard Harris comedy.

Some of the guest they expected fail to turn up, and others they did't particularly want - a nosey next door neigbour, her son and his difficult new wife - eventually arrive.

Estelle Shutkever has the audience choking with laughter as interfering widow Mrs Hinson, whose Zimmer frame once takes flight over the dividing garden fence.

At the centre of the madcap plot is alan Groucott, excellent in the role of the harrassed Dr Michael Smethurst, while marie Belfort copes well as his overworked wife Roma.

Leggy Ann Thomas playing posh sandy Lloyd-Meredith, stirs up the sexual chemistry when she arrives in a football shirt.

David ashley directs the play which is helped by a fine set. The party ends on Saturday night.
