Reviews:
'Fun for all at panto' (John Slim).
Mark Stokes, who wrote the show, and fellow Ugly Sister Rob Hodgkiss offer a convincing for the abolition of traditional principal boys.
Because if Prince Vince (Christopher Stanton) had been a girl, His Royal Highness would have buckled under the onslaught of his first encounter with an Ugly sister who leapt loudly into his arms.
Nevertheless, I have to say, as a panto traditionalist, I was pleased to see we still had a happy, female, thigh-slapping Dandini (Laura Brocklesby), urging on the action in a noisy, colourful show.
Adrian Page is a crowd-pleasing Buttons, Natalie Poole is a Cinderella with a great big grin and a smoky singing voice, and Helen Stokes a cheeky-faced Fairy who complains that someone has nicked her fairy set.
Sally Pratt is in splendid form as the Baroness and messrs Hodgkiss and Stokes strike back at us with water pistols.
